After 200+ Pennsylvania garage cleanouts last year, this is the exact order we tell homeowners to use. Follow it and a single-bay garage gets done in a Saturday — even with kids underfoot.
Step 1: Empty everything onto the driveway
Don't try to sort in place. Pull every box, tool, and bag out where you can see it. You will discover things you forgot you owned.
Step 2: Sort into four piles
- Keep — actually used in the last 12 months
- Donate — usable, just not by you
- Sell — high-value items only (don't let "I'll list it" become storage)
- Haul — broken, expired, irrelevant, or too far gone
Be honest about the Sell pile. If it doesn't move in 7 days, it joins the Haul pile.
Step 3: Categorize the Haul pile
This helps us quote it accurately when you call:
- Furniture — couches, dressers, old patio sets
- Yard equipment — broken mowers, trimmers, blowers
- Paint, chemicals, and fluids (we'll tell you which we can take)
- Boxes, decor, holiday storage
- Bikes, sports equipment, kids' toys
- Construction leftovers — wood, drywall, flooring
Step 4: Stage for pickup
Move the Haul pile to the driveway or right inside the open garage door. The closer it is to the truck, the faster we work — and lower truck-time means a lower bill.
Step 5: Book the haul-away
Call (267) 581-7918 with a photo. We give you an all-in price, send a crew, load the truck, and sweep the floor. Most one-bay garages take 60–90 minutes once we arrive.
